Listening And Speaking In The Face Of Extinction
Working with the “Last Speaker” of Xay Tsnu, a California indigenous language, I have had to face the grief I have felt at not starting this work earlier. We are in the midst of a mass extinction of languages, and I have known this on some level for most of my life. Two years into this work, I find that unearthing my childhood grief has freed me up to take ownership of the contribution I am committed to making. Waking up to how deeply I care about what I am doing, I am beginning to invite others to care, too.

Lifetime Achievement Award
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Conference for Global Transformation, we bestowed a special Lifetime Achievement Award to three People Who Assist. The three individuals have participated in every single conference since its inception in 2001. Without these three people, the Conference would not have been able to grow to the size it is today.
Susie Fraser
Susie Fraser has served in numerous accountabilities with the conference and for the past several years has been the Content Manager. That means she oversees all of the teams that produce our Journal, the Posters, our new Art Exhibit and the workshops, as well as the team of people in our Content 2021 team at this 2020 conference. It literally is a full-time job and we are so lucky to have Susie.
Kent Knight
Kent Knight has also served in various positions with the Conference and for the past eight years has been our Show Director, which means he manages every aspect of what goes on in our main ballroom, and this weekend, he is managing all aspects of each of our Keynote Talks here on this Zoom Webinar platform.
Blair Barnett
Blair has also been involved in every Conference and actually has been at the helm, accountable for every aspect of the Conference once we are on location each year for the past eight years. And that is why we call him the Onsite Manager. This past year he took on being accountable for the training and development of all people assisting on location. And, when the decision was made to turn our conference this year into a three-day virtual event, Blair stepped up and said he would be accountable for all of it. That included re-training all teams for the new task at hand, recruiting new team members with experience on Zoom. He has been working night and day, seven days a week, for two months to produce this weekend’s event.
